The 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence campaign is a United Nations incentive. The event takes place annually between 25 November (International Day of No Violence against Women) and 10 December (International Human Rights Day).
The South African Government upholds the campaign but also includes issues relating to violence against children; therefore, South Africa holds the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign annually.
This campaign focuses primarily on generating an increased awareness of the negative impact of violence on women and children.
